In the winery, too, they call it "andersch" in the Kraichgau dialect that means different. I liked it very much, and I rated it with 91 bonvinitas points. A tasting that is worth it!
91 bonvinitas Points: 2023 Rotling Landwein Rhein-Neckar - unfiltered
12%, bottled by estate Weingut Heitlinger: Fresh, lively scent reminiscent of sugar melon, bergamot, jasmine, with a hint of nutmeg; strong on the tongue, firm to the bite with a slight spiciness emerging from the depths with hints of ginger; with a firmly structured, rather "masculine" finish – absolutely fermented and "dust-dry", in which the sharpness is emerging again but well buffered. In very interesting wine, thanks to the oenologist and estate manager, Claus Burmeister, for the courage to make such a wine virtual natural.
Combines well with snacks with bacon and ham, with old hard cheese, and generally with smoked foods such as smoked eel or smoked mackerel.
Rotling
We are knowing Rosé and Weissherbst of immediately pressed red grapes, which also includes Blanc de Noir, of which is largely made Champagne. A blending of red and white wine is generally prohibited in Germany. An exception, however, is Rotling, a pink wine made from white and blue grapes that have already been pressed together. In this case, it consists of Riesling and Blaufraenkisch, which don’t read the label.
The Wine Estate Heitlinger
estate Heitlinger: red limestone marl
in Östringen-Tiefenbach in the Kraichgau with over 80 hectares is organically farmed. Burmeister swears not only by ecology, but also by the limestone and limestone marl soils, which are ideally suited for viticulture, otherwise viticulture would not have been successfully practiced there from Roman times through the monastic Middle Ages to the present day. This also includes the Burg Ravensburg wine estate and the further family of companies, as the Heitlinger Golf Resort and the Heitlinger Genusswelten with vinotheque, restaurants and hotels.
To green points , they mean category 1, dry to 12% alcohol. Here is the rating system, which not only applies to our wine blind evaluations by neutral testers, but also to which I follow my personal ratings.
