From ‚gemischten Satz‘ with five grape varieties, which means that the vines already grow together in the vineyard, are harvested together and pressed together, in this case from the white wine varieties: Riesling, Pinot Gris, Mueller-Thurgau, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, each of which has probably given its best. Longer maceration times gave the sparkling wine a distinctly reddish shimmer, 12% alcohol.
My note: Intense, very noble fragrance with tension between floral and candied fruits, such as candied pineapple, up to a hint of wooden barrel cellar. Very noble fine mousseux that unfolds silky smooth on the tongue and highlights the noble, with the candied fruit reappearing. In the finish, something noble and bright sounding accompanies you, almost like a high piano trill. A drop for individualists who love something special and enjoy something like this. I liked it very much, so I rated it 97 green bonvinitas points (category 1 till 12% alcohol). Here is the rating system, which I use as well as it is used for our bonvinitas blind evaluations.
'Walküre' 2018 Badischer Landwein dry
13.5%, made from the same mixed set of white grapes with longer maceration times and a reddish tinge. Rested on the lees in a steel tank for two years, it needs a few minutes of air - or decanting - after pouring. Country wine, because in its own way it does not fit any quality wine law: Noble mature fruity fragrance with notes of strawberries and fruit bread, with a hint of honey; on the tongue wonderfully supple silky soft; just as silky finish with a little salute of alcohol. Goes very well with smoked pork with sauerkraut, as well as sausage salad or dishes with cream cheese such as feta – valued with 92 red bonvinitas points – category 2 over 12%.
Chardonnay 2017 Badischer Landwein dry
matured in barriques – 13.5%, slightly coppery in colour due to longer maceration and filled with natural yeast very gently cloudy: very intense fruit on the nose with hints of nectarines, rose hips, strawberry jam, a hint of smoky; silky ripe body that lets you feel minerality, very elegant silky length. Nice with smoked salmon, smoked ham, pumpkin soup or vegetable gratin - rated with 90 bonvinitas points.
„Amphoria“ 2018 Badischer Landwein rosé
pressed from Pinot Noir with two years of barrel maturing: sweet scent of raspberry jam, roasted almonds, dried fruit; opens impulsively yet smoothly soft on the tongue with a smoky touch, which then flows into a calm finish. Very individual rosé anything but common with its beautiful balance between impulsive and smooth, fits well with ham toast, quiche lorraine or salad with turkey strips.
In the meantime, Danner sees himself primarily as a consultant.
